So You’ll Know Why

I’m positive I’ve posted this picture before but I can’t find it in my archives.

My Dad passed away last Saturday and I’d like to think that he’s finally together with my Mom, they’re happy and they look just like they did in this photograph, taken when they were in their early 20’s(? I have ton’s of photos that have nothing written on the back. No names. No dates.)

Someone must have been trying to tell me something – trying to keep me from going to Dad’s last weekend. First a nail in my tire and then feeling sick. If I hadn’t been home when the call came on Saturday night, I’m not sure if things would have gone as smoothly as they did. Everything happens for a reason.

Now my “busy” is of a different kind but there’s still busy work to be done. If I don’t post a lot, I hope you’ll understand.

  1. I’m so sorry for your loss. My dad passed away four years ago and I still miss him all the time. I can tell you that it does get better with time. This was the first holiday season I wasn’t a total mess. With regards to your photos, try to find someone in your family who can help you put names to faces. I have the same thing but luckily have a lot of older cousins to help.
My most sincere condolences to you and your family.

  2. I do believe the universe orchestrates our lives for a purpose and I’m glad you accepted staying home last weekend. Sending good strong thoughts your way. Hugs – Mary

  3. No time or reason to entertain the “what if”s. Just pull yourself out of bed every day and do the best you can.

  4. Your dad is very handsome and your mum looks lovely. I am a bit of a believer in things happening for a reason, and I am glad you were home. Take care, wiggly waggly tails.

  5. I love the photo. You’ve been a fantastic daughter to both your parents. I send you condolences and hugs.
