Faith and Fate

Today (from last night until tonight) is Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement.

If you don’t feel like going to the link, here’s the short version:

God inscribes each person’s fate for the coming year into a “book” on Rosh Hashanah and waits until Yom Kippur to “seal” the verdict.

Today is also the day for my Mom’s surgery which, truly, means that her fate is in God’s hands.

I’m not a very religious person but I feel very positive that it’s a good sign for both days to coincide.

If I keep repeating this to myself, maybe I will stop freaking out.
