Audible Frustration

I have to start by saying that I love I really do. I’ve been a member for years and can blow thru my 24 books a year in no time.

Here’s the thing.

I found Bitten, by Kelley Armstrong (yeah, I’m using Amazon links) and really enjoyed it. Great narrator and great story if you’re in the mood for contemporary supernatural.

When I tried to get book #2, I found they didn’t have it. Grrrr. So I ordered the book from Amazon and figured I could read it and then go on with my listening.

You know that I didn’t take the time to read book #2, right? It’s not rocket science to figure that one out.
I mean, I listen when I’m in the garden and when I’m cooking and, sometimes, when I’m knitting. I can’t read and do those other things simultaneously.

So I got #’s 3, 4, and 5 and started listening. (They changed narrators and she’s a bit annoying but mellows out after #3)

Book #2 came. It’s still sitting on the coffee table. I heard stuff that I would have read but still think that I’ll get to the book.

3 thru 5 are now but a distant memory.

I gleefully trip over to Audible to get book 6. SCREEEEECH!! Hold up! They don’t freaking HAVE IT! But they do have 7 and 8.

Now I really don’t know what to do. Do I order book 6 with the hope that I’ll read 2 and then 6?

I really want to listen to more but how far behind can I get before I’m completely ticked off?

  1. They’re weird!

My vote is to download #6 somewhere else and try to read #2. Like that will ever happen..cough cough.

Oh look #6 is here in paperback if you end up going that route! Stumbled across this site yesterday and have been intrigued by it. If I am reading it right you pay shipping only if you get a book and pay nothing if you send a book out.

  2. You know, I signed up for audible and have been unable to get anything to actually download onto my computer. I says it did, but it’s lying.
    Any advice?
Oh, and no, I would hold out for book six on disc or skip it – if your that much of an audiobook fan and you haven’t read book two yet…
    know yourself.

  3. Yeah they’re annoying like that – maybe write them an email requesting that book? They might ‘think’ it’s there but it’s not showing up or something…?

  4. Sounds like a good set of stories and they come in audio tape…hmmm could use some good knitting time accompanyment.
