And now…

some stuff that’s been knocking around in my head.

The pictures are just for your visual entertainment. 🙂

I think I have a gene that forbids me from leaving a Barnes & Noble without buying a book. I might have gotten it from my Mother, and I don’t necessarily think it’s a bad thing but I wish I also had a gene that told me where to put all the books.

This week’s acquisition is “Another Day in the FRONTAL LOBE” by Katrina Firlik. “O” Magazine said “Brisk, funny, incisive” and I’m still going to read it, even though “O” says “You’ll be riveted.” I usually back away from Oprah books. It’s just my way.

When I was 14 I wanted to be a brain surgeon and I think I still have my Reader’s Digest version of “The Making of a Surgeon”, from the 70’s. I find it all fascinating stuff!

I just finished listening to “Neither Here Nor There” by Bill Bryson. He’s a very witty storyteller. If you have a chance to read/hear any of his stuff, don’t hesitate!

Now I’m listening to “Bitten”.

I love fiction but at least I’m diverse in my tastes.

Had another golf lesson today. Wasn’t going to go because I was feeling kinda blech but I had fun. My instructor realized that he couldn’t tell me “That was a good shot.” because the next swing would always be rotten. I told him to stop complimenting me and once he started saying “That was no good” and “That sucked”, I did a lot better.

Tom’s taking off from work next week, for his birthday. One of the days we’ll be going to Atlantic City so that we can FINALLY see Bodies: The Exhibition. I’ve been wanting to see this for almost 2 months but finding the time to take a day isn’t easy when you’re married to a golfer. 🙂

I finished the neck ribbing on the vest and just have the armholes to rib and the side seams to sew. ALMOST DONE!!

  1. I have the same bookstore affliction. I can’t pass one by and I can’t leave empty handed. My kids all know this and take shameless advantage. They know I’ll buy them something, even if it is a book!

  2. I agreen with your s.o.p. on the O books, somehow I just dont want to be a part of that herd.

I cant wait to see the finished vest..but you may have to trade up for a ‘less shy’ model, heh.

  3. The model. Looks so familiar. Hmm. 🙂

Agree with you on O books. She is like a pied piper that only a few of us can ignore. hmph.

    Hurry up with argyle already!

  4. Ooo ahhh argyle looks good!

Now now, you didn’t buy a book when I was with you at B&N. I think Jane bought enough for the both of us.

Bodies! It is really cool, freaky, good. Have a great time!

  5. Wow – your photos are beautiful! Love the sweater, too (though your unnamed male model looks like you held him hostage for the shot, hahahaha!)
