Been So Long

What to say. What to say.

Since my last post…

My Uncle Sam passed away. He was the only Uncle to be at my wedding party and I remember his smiling face. He was also my Father’s last surviving brother.

I stayed home from bowling for 2 weeks.

I’ve only gone out 3 times, to the grocery store, because of whatever crud I’ve been fighting. I mean, I haven’t wanted to go into a store – no Macy’s, no Kohl’s, no nuthin’ – if that’s not sick, what is?

I had to get my grandmother’s ring cut off of my finger. The people at the jewelry store REEEEALLLLY tried to get it off but when I had to sit down from the pain – I’m talking tears flowing and sweating all over – they stopped. It was a “wanna cry” moment because I’ve been wearing it for 14 years and I feel so bare without it. I had that done on Wednesday and my finger still shows the “ring” being there. It’s not that the ring was tight. I was able to move it up and down but I couldn’t get it off of my finger because my knuckle was…um…larger than when the ring first got there. So now I have to decide what to do with the ring. Resize for ring finger? Make into an index finger ring? I don’t want to alter the ring by making it a pinky ring. It just means too much to me.

I’ve sold over 30 sets of markers – I can’t believe it! I’ve also been wrapping markers like a son-of-a-gun.

Tom’s been feeling better. He’s half-way thru his antibiotics for his sinus infection.

Hey! At least the cat’s been fine.

OK. Now onto the photo portion of our show.

My second FO. Koolhaas in Burgundy Malabrigo, for me. (don’t look at the no make-up, m’kay?)

Tom wants another one so I’m going to use the Buscando Azul (photo at bottom). I can’t stop making these hats. Anybody want one? 🙂

I got my prize from Marisol, for being her 1000th commenter…commentator?…commentitian?…commentologist?. A cool t-shirt with her banner on it.

I got my first set of markers from the Stitch Marker Exchange. This photo wouldn’t “take” on Blogger (shocking!) so here it is.
Markers AND candy! Thanks, blogless Christine!

I got a few new yarns – but I didn’t pay for them so I didn’t break my diet!

Tempted Yarns Luxury Sock Yarn in Paris colorway

Tempted Yarns Luxury Sock Yarn in Roxanne colorway

2 skeins of Wildfoote. Tom went to the Down Cellar and bought these for the sock machine (Not for me but for the MACHINE. LOL)

He also bought ME 2 skeins of Malabrigo in Autumn Forest. The ladies there loved that he was buying yarn for his wife. Doesn’t every husband do that?

Not wound yet so no photo. It’s SO much prettier when it’s wound into a cake.

Olive, Lime Blue, Buscando Azul
Yummmmm. Cake.

  1. Wow lots going on and I love all your yarn. Oh and I tagged you for a cute short and sweet Meme.

On a sadder note, I am really, really sorry for your loss:( I hope you feel better soon both emotionally and physically my friend.

  2. Sorry to hear about your uncle and thank-you for sharing a nice memory of him.

You are one busy woman! The koolhaus looks great. I’m making one in malabrigo’s velvet grape.
your stichmarkers are beautiful too! Feel better soon!!!

  3. Your husband buys yarn for you??? You are a lucky gal!

I want a Koolhaus hat! I got a little intimidated with all the cables…. I will try again. Maybe. But as you know I am on a Fair Isle kick right now.

    Love all your yarn!

  4. Oooo, I love the hat in that color even more! 🙂

The world is not right when you don’t even feel like shopping. (Or eating, for me).

Sorry to hear about your uncle. Hugs going out to you.

  5. Oh, definately resize the ring. No question. I’ve had this done at it is quick and not too expensive (depends on the material). You can’t break a fourteen year streak.

  6. Wow! There’s so much I’m not even sure where to start! I love, love, love the hat. It looks so warm and cozy. Congrats on your stitch markers selling so well.

Way to acquire yarn without breaking your diet! Woohoo!

  7. Sorry to hear about your uncle Sam–the world always looks different after someone you love has left it.

Do not stop knitting those hats, they are the coolest and look great in any yarn.

My husband has had the knuckle issue–we vote for resizing the ring, it doesn’t change the ring kharma, it just fits your finger better 🙂

  8. Wow!!! I love the t-shirt!!! I might have to hop over there and see if she sells them.

Why don’t you get your Grandma’s ring made a size larger? I can’t believe you had it on that long. I only wear mine when I’m going out and when it comes off I pop it into the jewelery cleaner.
