The Day After…

I had a great time in Philly.  We visited 3 yarn stores: Rosie’s Yarn Cellar, Loop and The Tangled Web.  I came away from all of them with something even though I only bought a pattern at one store.

We formed a group of 7, once we got to Philadelphia.  Then we "stormed the stores".

My take-away amounted to lace yarn, one of the new Addi’s for lace and a pattern.  (Pictures to follow) Whatever I didn’t spend goes towards my Stitches fund.  That’s pretty fair, right?

Someone should start an "On-Call Knitter’s" group.

  • Want to visit a yarn store…but not alone?  Call the OCK!
  • Want to ask a question on a Sunday night?  Call the OCK!
  • Not sure what size to make?  Call the OCK!

Could somebody get on that?

We even knit in public while having lunch at Ten Stone (which was recommended by the gentleman at Loop.  He was such a sweety!).  Well, kinda in public.  They put us in the back room and then didn’t seat anyone else in there.  Unless you count the 2 guys that wandered back there looking for the "gents".  But there was knitting, I tell you!

So, I was really exhausted Saturday night.  Then spent a few hours, on Sunday, looking thru patterns so I could use the lace that Jeanne bought me for my birthday.  I really want to knit with it before I do anything with my "crawl" yarn.

Check out Jeanne’s blog.  She’s putting up her review on the stores and I’ll just say "DITTO" to whatever she tells you.  Really.  I trust her.

I had to get up early to take Wes to the vet.  (Thanks to the people that wished him a speedy recovery!)  I think I was more stressed than he was…until I got to the office.  He was FROZEN at the back of the crate.  I may have seen him blink but I doubt it.  And when the technician took him away…I’m almost positive I saw him give me "the finger".

We’ll be picking him up in a few hours and then it’s back to normal.  Giving him his antibiotics and watching him spit it onto the dishwasher.  Having to put ointment on his lip so it heals properly.

Seriously.  Have these people ever MET a cat?  How do you put ointment on their lip and NOT have them lick it off?

I’m really happy that 3 of my favorite shows have started back up, for the summer.  Top Chef, Hell’s Kitchen and So You Think You Can Dance? (yeah, I do!).  Reality frivolity at its best!  And all in their 3rd season.

ENJOY!

  1. Looks like a spectacular time.

Poor Wes. Same thing with pills. How do you launch a pill down their throat and not expect them to throw it back up! 🙂

That dance show is pretty good. Caught it last week and man, those people can dance!

  4. awww hope Wes gets to feeling better. I like the on-call knitters idea…I could be ready in about 5min notice if I was being picked up lol. Good luck with the meds and lip ointment
