Thinking about the last post – and the whole "don’t have a life" thing. Most of the time "having a life" means you’ve got drama. I just got rid of drama and don’t really want any more, thank-you-very-much.
We’re hoping that Binky is recovering from her recent surgery. Wes has been pacing the floor with worry.
My Mom’s speeding her way to my house (so she can go to the knitting meeting tomorrow) and what better way to kill time than post about my latest additions to my yarn "collection"?
Braving the snow, Tom drove me to The Wooly Lamb on Wednesday. I went to pick up 2 skeins of yarn that they had set aside for me.
Enough of this Cascade 220 Heather (color is an army green…or brown…depending on how you look at it) to make the Central Park Hoodie.
Claudia Handpainted in Jungle and Carribean Blue. For a hat for Tom in some sort of pattern.
Debbie Bliss Cashmerino dk for a Red Light Special hat…for Tom.
Also a skein each of red and black to make him the We Call Them Pirates hat…again, for Tom.
Hey! He drove!
I spent so much that they gave me this TOTALLY COOL vinyl bag. I think I was more excited about getting the bag, than the yarn! LOL! (NOT!)
And, of course, I got those 2 skeins of Cascade 220 – I’m thinking I’ll use it for Twist.
But we’re gonna call the colorway "Wes", ‘k?
On the needle size called for in the pattern, I got a lovely gauge of 40 sts=1". Which fits my wrist perfectly. But there’s no way in HELL it’s going to fit my hand. So I’m going up to a size 4 to do the thumb increases.
It’s just as well. I made a boo-boo in the pattern – can ya see it? Sure you can! So I ripped out about 10 rounds and picked it up from there.
I’m looking forward to my Mom’s visit (haven’t seen her since July!) and going to the knitting meeting.
