THE HEAT IS ON….yeah, yeah.  (The heat is on, on the street Inside your head, on every beat… Thanks Glenn Frey)

Some companies like to play with your head.  Our heating company played ours like bongos.

We DIDN’T need a new motor, or new system (quote from tech was between $6,500 to $9,000).  We only needed a new relay (to the tune of $120).

Thank goodness we have a home shield contract.  We called them and found out they don’t deal with our usual heating company (high quote guy).  When the new company tech showed up (11 hours later) he found that our motor was fine.  Just a relay – which, in my limited knowledge means that we use 2 relays at 120 amps (or is it volts?) and only 1 was working.

12 hours later and we had heat.  And it only cost us $55!!! The home shield company pays the rest.

W H E W ! ! !

On a knitting knote – I redid the first Fetching.  Much nicer and I’ll show you tomorrow.  Today I must go out into the cold (wind chill 9 degrees) to visit my bestest buddy, the dentist.

  1. Glad you got the heat back on! Amazing that it only cost what it did – and stupid other company for telling you so much! Keep warm!

  2. I’m happy to hear your heating repair cost was reasonable Laurie! You’re off to the dentist again? Can’t wait to see that new smile of yours!

  3. Woo hoo! I have to tell you – I’d have a stroke if someone told me it was going to cost $9000 for a new furnace. Thank god not all furnace fix-it guys are not sheisty.

Bink (currently in time-out) says hey to her guy!

  4. So glad to hear that you have heat again and it didn’t cost you an arm and a leg.

We just dealt with a leaky disposal. Leaking where it shouldn’t. Dad and hubby replaced disposal but then there was a leak in the J-bend. 3 days later (and some more leaks) and we have a working kitchen faucet with no leaks. What drama!!
