I LURVE IT!  Thanks again, Chris, for having a contest I could try to win!

Yesterday was a glorious day, spent with Chris and Amy, at Amy’s house.

I brought the Starbucks (of course).  Amy supplied the cookies and pizza.  Chris brought a chocolate decadence cake.  Yeah.  We know how to do-it-up.

Amy and Chris were knitting their "Something In Red" sweaters.  I think they’re in competition but neither will admit it.  Both sweaters are beautiful and, of course, red.

I worked on Tom’s "Drunken Argyle" vest.  Right now it looks like a black headband.  1.5 inches of ribbing on size 1 needles.  (He went golfing today and I offered it to him, but he didn’t feel it was ready to wear.  Huh!)

We ate pizza, drank different forms of coffee, laughed and surfed the web for MORE YARN!  And we got to look at Amy’s new laundry room.  It’s FAB!  Imagine a room JUST for doing laundry.  Lots of counter space, rods for hanging things up.  AND a cedar closet for her yarn.

I know not everyone would be thrilled by this.  I’m not crazy about doing the laundry.  But when you have a place that’s this nice, it doesn’t seem to be so much of a chore.  Go check out the room on Amy’s blog.

Amy’s one lucky gal and her hubby (he did the whole room from scratch – it had been part of their attic) is a marvel.

Chris was wearing a gorgeous top she had made.  It was "Soliel" from Knitty, in a loverly shade of green.  I did everything except feel her up.  I drooled over that top.  Hounded her about the yarn (Classic Elite Provence) and the yarn color.  I was a pest.

When I got home, I went on-line and found that the color is discontinued.  Me not happy.  But I e-mailed Chris and she searched her stash and found 2 full skeins!  That and the leftovers from her top and she has enough for me to make a Soliel of my own.  She said I could have it.

I nearly cried.

You KNOW how it is when you WANT a yarn.  You HAVE TO HAVE IT or you’ll die.   Now I don’t have to fall on the floor and have a tantrum.  Good thing.  I don’t know if my knees could take it.

I got a new toy yesterday.  Unfortunately, I can’t show you any of the pictures I took WITH IT because my computer can’t handle the 2GB, 60X speed, SD Card.  So I have to fiddle and connect it directly to my computer to download photos.  I’m too lazy to do that right now.

I’ll leave you with a photo of a totally relaxed Wesley.

  1. Your pin is really pretty!
I bought a pin from Chris after seeing her mentioned on your blog. Of course, then when I wrote about it, I credited the wrong blog for sending me there. Sigh. I have now edited it. So–thanks for the link!

  2. That is one great shawl pin! It is so perfect, not clunky like some.

Ooh I know that feeling of wanting yarn so bad that you might throw a tantrum if you don’t get it.

    Now I want some pizza…

  3. Thanks for the photo op! I appreciate the support – and I’ll keep plying you with yarn – get it? Plying?

  4. I love the shawl pin! You won it? You lucky duck! And Soleil has been on my to-do list for years now. It’s a great, simple, classic, elegant design. I can’t wait to see how yours looks. Do you know who I am yet? HaHaHaHa
