We had a hell of a storm, last night.  Stellar lightening and thunder.  Then came the hail.  Then the toads. Then our lights went out for 4 hours.

Tom had no problem with the black-out.  At about 8:45 he fell asleep on the couch, I closed him into the den with Wesley, and left him there (he only scratched at the board for a little while – Tom, not Wesley <eg>) until the power came back on at 10:30.

I knit on my Green Gable until it was too dark to see (about 15 minutes) and then listened to my iPod for a while.  I’m 2/3 of the way thru "Memoirs of a Geisha" and am really enjoying it. (Thanks Amy!)

Exciting, huh?

Hail_no All hail on the the patio!

  1. oh I love Memoirs! I read it AND listened to it AND saw the movie like six times…

Sad, I know. I have no life.

  2. I’ve read the book, and have been meaning to see the movie. Wow – that is so me hail. And toads??!!

  3. Oh good – you’re knitting. That means your hands are better 🙂

They (the weather-critters) keep promising hail with our thunderstorms, but so far nada. I don’t want car-crunching, kitten-mashing stuff – just, you know, a little white stuff to fall from the sky in the middle of the summer 🙂

  4. Wow, that does look like quite the storm. We actually had one like there here awhile back. The hail piles looked like mounds of snow. It was crazy!

  5. These storms must make for a knitting spike! It seems everyone is experiencing awful stormy weather but us, which I am thankful for, but God knows we could use the rain!
