I got a wee bit of e-bay Lorna’s Laces sock yarn. From the left…
Black Purl (I already had that. It just wanted to be friendly), Vera, Motherlode, Purple Iris and Jeans. Not sure if they want to be socks or shawls. They said they’ll get back to me on it.
Wes’s first 4th of July. The noise from the fireworks didn’t bother him a bit. He enjoyed sitting in the front window and watching them. Probably thought they were the biggest lightning bugs he’d ever seen.
We were supposed to go to the Kutztown Festival, on Wednesday. It was raining in the morning so we went to Vanity Fair, instead. Being as it’s only 5 minutes to the The Yarn Gallery, I HAD to go there. Picked up some Cherry Tree Hill Supersock in Moody Blues and a spare skein of Bearfoot, in Ruby River. Now I have enough RR for a shawl.
Met up w/Amy and her daughter, for an early movie. All 3 of us were "under the weather" but, troopers that we are, we stuffed our bags with W’mart candy and carried on.
The Devil Wears Prada did not disappoint!
When I got home, this was waiting in my mailbox…
A lovely Dichro One button (click on photo for a closer look) and a Post-It sheep pad! Or a sheepy post-it pad. Maybe a sheepish post-it pad.
I LOVE post-its!
I think my next pair is going to be toe-up Pomatomus. Anyone made those that way? Anything I should know before starting a rough pattern in the opposite direction?
About 2 years ago, Tom and I took a "Perennial" class, and the instructor gave out some plants. I have no idea what this is. I know it’s in the mint family (because the stem is square) and the leaves smell kind of lemon-y. The flower was so cool I had to take a photo.
Added 7/8 – SNAP! I’ve got it!!! MONARDA!
We’ve been seeing commercials about that creepy brother of Punxatawney Phil – Gus the Groundhog.(You PA folks know what I’m talking about.) He gives me the "icks". Moth eaten looking thing. And they show him making a commercial with someone putting gel on him, after all, he’s a S T A R. (HURL)
Anyway, the commercials have been "He might come to visit your home." And I think I saw him but he was at our bathroom door. (Yup, bathroom at the back of the house has a glass door.)
