OK, I need some input.
I had ordered 2 knitting bags from “X” company. When I got the bags, the invoice showed my items and their prices, along with FREE shipping.
I wasn’t happy with the bags. I called the company (as per the invoice instructions) and told them I would like to return the bags. They said to send them on back.
I paid for the return postage.
Last week I got a check for less than the amount I paid.
I called the company and was told they would get back to me.
Today I sent an e-mail, including a copy of my on-line invoice. I asked what was going on.
This evening I got a response.
It said that, because I ordered over $75 worth of merchandise, my shipping was free. But, because I returned the order, I got back what I spent LESS the shipping cost that they paid when they sent me the order.
They also directed me to their Refund Policy.
This was on their website:
Refund Policy: If you want to return an item purchased from XXX Company for a refund, please contact us explaining the reason for the refund. We will make arrangements for you to return your purchased bag and receive a refund. Refunds will be issued by check, not a credit to a credit card. Unfortunately, we are unable to refund shipping charges. All refund requests must be made within 7 days of delivery, and can only be honored for bags returned in new condition.
I’m pissed. Really pissed.
It only said that shipping was not refunded. BUT THEY GAVE ME FREE SHIPPING ON MY ORDER. Nothing about how they won’t pay you back, in full, if you order more than $75.
I don’t want to post their name right now.
I want to know what you “all” think of this. And I’m holding off on my response to their e-mail, until I cool down.
